Presenting your new Burlesque TOP 50 No.1 burlesque figure in the world: LouLou D’vil, Miss Exotic World, Reigning Queen of Burlesque 2013!
When I sat down for lunch with LouLou in London in May 2013, she was calm, practical and passionate, looking ahead to the Tournament of Tease at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend 2013. As I listened to her plans I could picture the crown on her head, if not that year then certainly in the future. As it turned out, 2013 was her year, and her victory, along with her exceptional performances and many other fine qualities, has seen her win your votes and top this poll.
LouLou’s 2013 appearances included the Iowa Burlesque Festival, the Toronto Burlesque Festival, Viva Las Vegas, the Helsinki Burlesque Festival, and performances in London, Rome, Milan, Munich and Basel. And, of course, she was crowned Miss Exotic World, Reigning Queen of Burlesque 2013, performing an act which perfectly portrays her signature attack, style and aesthetic.
Watching LouLou flourish over time has been thrilling to observe, and she more than holds her own amongst the burlesque big-hitters who won the crown before her. She puts on a dazzling, sumptuous display on every stage she struts on, and I’m sure the best is yet to come in 2014 and beyond.
