The Burlesque TOP 50 2015 results continue!  Where there is a tie, the policy is to allow joint holders of a single spot in order to celebrate as many people as possible. More results to come soon!

Who: Miss Exotic World, Reigning Queen of Burlesque 2011. Founder of BurlyCon and the Academy of Burlesque. Contemporary pioneer.

In 2015: Performances included Grand Aloha Tease in Hawaii, The Atomic Bombshells Lost In Space! at The Triple Door, and headlining the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival and San Antonio Burlesque Festival. Indigo participated in the 10th Anniversary of Land of the Sweets: The Burlesque Nutcracker, and performed in the Icons and All Stars showcase as well as a tribute to burlesque legend Wild Cherry with Coco Lectric at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend.

Lola Van Ella

Who: Renowned St. Louis sing and flinger, producer and instructor.

In 2015: Lola was a speaker at the TEDxGatewayArch event, presenting Let Me Entertain You. She embarked on a European tour, taking in Newcastle, Glasgow, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, Nuremburg and Hamburg. She hosted the main stage at Pride St. Louis, headlined the Windy City Burlesque Festival, and was a featured presenter at BurlyCon. Van Ella Productions produced Spectaculaire! A Grand New Year’s Ball and the 5th Annual Shimmy Showdown, and the Van Ella Band released an EP online.

29. Havana Hurricane

Who: British bump ‘n’ grinder with big hair and bigger talent.

In 2015: Havana performed in – take a breath now – Barcelona, Phoenix, Tucson, Austin, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Munich, Adelaide and Perth!  UK performances included Sheffield, London, Nottingham, Exeter, Derby, Cornwall, Bournemouth, Rotherham, Liverpool and Swansea. She also joined Leeds Burlesque as Co-Director.

 

28. Hazel Honeysuckle

Who: Exquisite porcelain princess of tease, based in New York. Actress, singer, model, costumer, and self-confessed nerd.

In 2015: Hazel won 1st runner up at the New Orleans Burlesque Festival competiton. International performances included Treviso, Milan, Paris, Brussels, Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Zurich, Bern and Lausanne, as well as US appearances in Atlantic City, Washington DC, and her New York base. She was also a feature performer for The Mason Dixie Burlesque Tour and headlined Geektastic A Burlesque Revue.

 

27. Scarlett Martini

Who: Sparkling Italian headliner with international clout.

In 2015: Performances in Prague, Rome, Berlin, Hamburg, Lyon, Todmorden, Strasbourg, Baden, Paris, Melide, Treviso and Heidelberg. She was a feature performer at the Geneva Burlesque Festival, Boylesque Festival Vienna and the Munich Burlesque Festival.

 

26. Dangrrr Doll

Who: Cosplay queen and nerdlesque star based in New York.

In 2015:  Dangrrr was a feature performer at the Minneapolis Burlesque Festival and headlined the Ohio Burlesque Festival. Performances in Seattle, Nashville, Portland, Vancouver, New Orleans, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Washington, Houston, Baltimore and Washington DC, as well as local NYC shows. She also produced Comic Con Vixens for New York Super Week.

Who: ‘The Fastest Tassel Twirler from East to West’ continues to wow audiences across the world with her scintillating brand of striptease.

In 2015: Peeks performed at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend with Julie Atlas Muz in a tribute to Loie Fuller, and made a strong showing in the Miss Exotic World category. She instructed at BurlyCon and won the ‘Claw Queen’ Golden Pastie award at the New York Burlesque Festival. She also debuted new act Chopin Nocturne with live piano at Pandora and the Locksmiths show in Vancouver, BC and was interviewed for the Manwhore Podcast  She taught and performed on a six week tour in Europe, stopping in Leeds, Paris, Belgium, Malta, Amsterdam, Hamburg and Berlin.

24. Midnite Martini

Who: Miss Exotic World, Reigning Queen of Burlesque 2014. Aerial ecdysiast extraordinaire renowned for innovation.

In 2015: Midnite was a guest instructor at BurlyCon and headlined the Southwest Burlesque Festival, the Southern Fried Burlesque Festival, the Texas Burlesque Festival, Vancouver Burlesque Festival, Colorado Burlesque Festival and the New York Burlesque Festival. She also gave a spectacular step down performance at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend.

23. Rubyyy Jones

Who: “One part Las Vegas Showgirl, one part Broadway Baby and one part Drag Queen”, Rubyyy has spent her life working as a performance artist, actress, singer, dancer, choreographer, assistant director and voiceover artist. The Canadian cabaret star is a darling of the London scene.

In 2015: Ruby was part of the Queer Collective at the Arcola Theatre, playing Oberon/Hippolyta in a modern Midsummer Night’s Dream. She participated in #‎TalkSexxx with Buck Angel, performed at the V&A museum’s Friday Late ‘Queer and Now’, performed at Glastonbury Festival, headlined the Bristol Burlesque Festival, and travelled to Vienna to headline the International Queer Performance Festival. Rubyyy also debuted at Supperclub Amsterdam and Kinky & Quirky, was nominated for a London Cabaret Award as Best Alternative Artist, delivered powerful performances in Vivacity Bliss’ Cabaret Roulette, continued her own production, Save Rubyyy Jones, and launched her Queerlesque course.

 

22. Ginger Valentine

Who: Award-winning classic burlesque star whose performances have clocked millions of views on YouTube.

In 2015: Ginger won 2nd Runner Up at The Burlesque Hall of Fame Miss Exotic World pageant and delivered a step down performance with her Texas troupe, The Ruby Revue. She was a feature performer at the New York Burlesque Festival, Dallas Burlesque Festival, New Orleans Burlesque Festival, Houston Burlesque Festival and the Viva Las Vegas burlesque showcase, and she headlined the New Zealand Burlesque Festival.

Who: Fire breathing, chopper riding, tulle humping, mischief making mistress of British burlesque.

In 2015: International performances at Taboo Barcelona, The Supper Club Amsterdam, The Dirty Devil’s Peepshow  at Theatre Bizarre in Detroit, the New York Burlesque Festival, as well as UK appearances at Neil Kendall’s Body Snatcher’s Ball, Burly Q Sheffield, and The Showzam Ball Blackpool. She was also outstanding in the London Wonderground 2015 version of Polly Rae’s Between the Sheets, debuting her flaming absinthe glass act.
