Sunday May 11th offers a rare and very special opportunity to meet three beloved burlesque legends at The Highline Ballroom in New York. Presented by The New York Burlesque Festival and The New York School of Burlesque, the event will honour Hollywood’s Russ Meyer girl Kitten Natividad; ‘the epitome of excellence’, Shannon Doah from San Diego; and ‘The Sepia Sally Rand’, New York’s own Jean Idelle.
Supporting these three legendary ladies will be a stellar cast of contemporary favourites. The World Famous *BOB* will host the event and there will be performances from Angie Pontani (Miss Exotic World 2008), Jo Weldon, Mr Gorgeous, Kitten ‘n’ Lou, and Gal Friday.
The event will also feature a question and answer panel, hosted by Jo Weldon of the New York School of Burlesque, and there will be an opportunity to meet Jean Idelle, Kitten Natividad and Shannon Doah at an autograph signing session.
Co-producer Jen Gapay told 21st Century Burlesque Magazine: ‘We are so honoured to be able to bring these amazing legends back to New York City for this event. The big apple hasn’t seen this many original legends on one stage since the 1960’s!’
As ‘the first time in over a quarter of a century that these burlesque legends are being showcased in New York City’, this can truly be called a one of a kind event, and any burlesque fanatic who can make this event would be crazy to miss it. Beyond the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend, opportunities to meet and experience our burlesque legends are still infrequent, and they should be grasped and treasured with both hands.
