And so begins my recap of the hot burlesque action at the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender 2016, starting with the big-guns-blazing Burlesque Showcase. Every performer in this show is personally invited by Audrey Deluxe to thrill the 30,000 strong army of Viva Las Vegas attendees (at least as many as they can pack into the showroom three times in one night) and every single one of them is a world class power house.
British heavyweight Kitty Bang Bang kicks off the show, appropriately, as Lady Luck herself. On acid. Simultaneously clowning and deftly en pointe, it’s a slick and fast thrill ride of feathers and flesh. Boa-jerking, panty-kicking, and a crowd-pleasing drop split thrown in for good measure. That’s how you start a god damn show!
